Summer Chill

Tune in to SoundScape this Thursday (Feb 28) from 9pm to some great ambient music on YVFM 99.1 or get it streamed live from the website.

We've had a hot week here in Australia, so I'm going to be playing a very chill show :)

Music from artists such as Spatial Correlation, Catherine Duc, David Bowie, Howard Shore, London Bridges, mwvm, Russell Brower, This Mortal Coil, Bjork and Blackfilm.

The Goon Show this week is simply untitled, and is the second show they did for the BBC, back in Feb 1952.

Not ENOugh Eno....

Tune in to SoundScape on YVFM 99.1 this Thursday night from 9pm or get it streamed live from the website.

When people talk of ambient music, a few big names are foremost in their minds, and one of them will be Brian Eno. I have avoided playing much Eno so far on SoundScape, mainly to avoid the thought that it would be too 'mainstream'.

Eno, on his own and with other musicians like David Bryne, Harold Budd, Daniel Lanois and Fripp, has been a huge influence on the genre, so featuring his work is well overdue.

For our weekly Goon Show, we will be returning to the very start again, with 'The Ascent of Mount Everest' from April 1953.

This week's Goon Show will be 'The Last Goon Show of All".
